Spanish Cuban Concert
SPANISH CUBAN CONCERT TEN
This is a new Pohaku concert ten size instrument. The concert ten model has a full concert scale length of 14 7/8” with a relatively small body. The body is 10% larger than a soprano ukulele hence the concert ten name. That, and it was first designed in 2010 as a slightly larger alternative to the soprano ukulele which can be a great instrument if you desire a small simple sparky and percussive instrument.
This elegantly simple instrument is made of Hawaiian grown quarter-sawn Cuban Mahogany which has a light and subtle curl throughout. The Cuban body is mated with a Spanish Cedar neck. Both the fingerboard and the bridge are birds eye maple. The edge binding and the decorative fleur-de-lis are also maple.
Gotoh brand planetary tuners are installed for smooth easy 4:1 gear ratio tuning. The finish is a matt shellac based finish.
This instrument is loud and very percussive. great for rhythm strumming. One strum and you find out just how eager this little instrument wants to make some noise!
The set up and intonation are excellent allowing it to play in tune and play with ease.
The ukulele comes in a rigid semi hard zippered case. Overall the ukulele measures about 23” long and weighs approximately 17 ozs.
