Dovetail Concert

Dovetail Concert
$1,250.00

This is a new Pohaku concert ten size instrument. The concert ten model has a full concert  scale length of 14 7/8” with a relatively small body. The body is 10% larger than a soprano ukulele hence the concert ten name. That, and it was first designed in 2010 as a slightly larger alternative to the soprano ukulele which can be  a great instrument if you desire  a small simple sparky and percussive instrument.

On this particular instrument I chose to create a dovetail joint theme around the body of the ukulele. The interconnected woods on the soundboard are Redwood on the treble side and Alaskan Yellow Spruce on the bass side. The Body woods are Cuban Mahogany joined with curly

Western Big Leaf Maple.

The neck is a quilted Western Maple and the fingerboard is a ‘baked’ Birds Eye Maple.

There is a Maple top edge binding. A quality made hard maple slotted string bridge secures the strings at one end while Peg-Head planetary tuners secure the strings on the peghead end.The tuners have a 4:1 gear ratio for easy accurate tuning. The set up and intonation are spot on making this instrument in tune and easy to play.

The finish is a glossy smooth nitro lacquer. The back is arched as all Pohaku ukuleles are.

The ukulele comes in a rigid semi hard zippered case. Overall the ukulele measures about 23” long and is lightweight at approximately 15 ozs.

Price is $1250 + $70 shipping via Fed Ex ground in a sturdy re-useable mailing carton.
