Redwood Soprano

This is a new Pohaku soprano size ukulele. I used an unusual piece of curly redwood for the soundboard which came out of the Sierra Nevada’s. The body is made of fiddleback Honduran mahogany and the edge trim is a delicate maple strip with a fine black stripe. This is a good bright sounding soprano instrument. The fingerboard is made of Bocote wood & has mother of pearl fretmarkers. This instrument is based on the exceptional Martin soprano design.
As usual there is the high Pohaku quality to go along with the sound. You’ll find every detail of this instrument is excellent; smooth frets, easy playing and accurate intonation. The finish is super smooth and buffed to a glossy shine. Perfectly shaped neck topped with a retro banjo-esque peghead.
`I use Aquila Nyl-Gut strings and Grover 4 tuners with ivoroid tuning buttons.. Overall the ukulele measures approx 22” long and weighs approx 15 ounces. This instrument comes with a case.
