Concert 10 Koa Ukulele
This is one of the first made of my new 'Concert 10' series of ukuleles. It's a small bodied concert ukulele that was designed to have the percussive spark of a soprano ukulele with the longer scale length of a concert. This is similar to but not to be confused with a super-concert which would be a soprano body and a concert neck.
This particular one is built with a light-colored, golden-hued koa body. The Koa has a nice curly figure and shimmer to it. The neck is Honduran Mahogany, the tuning machines are planetary geared 'Peghead' tuners, and the rosewood fingerboard has mother of pearl fret-marker inlays.
The bridge is a larger version of a soprano slotted bridge and is a precision made bridge for long life.
Because I designed this instrument in 2010 and it is roughly 10% larger than my soprano's are I call it a Concert Ten. Hence the number ten is inlaid in a stylized fashion into the peg-head.
Lightweight at approx. 15 ozs. The ukulele is about 23” long and it comes with a hard-shell case.
