Koa Tenor Crossrope
Title: Koa Tenor Crossropes
The body of this Tenor size ukulele is super curly AAA Hawaiian Koa from the Hawaii’s Big Island. Pohaku has formed this magnificent wood into a magnificent tenor ukulele which has an exceptional sweet sound and is loud with great sustain. It’s not only pretty to look at but it plays well due to its meticulous construction, set up and attention to every detail. The back, like all Pohaku ukuleles are is softly rounded on both axis and the finish is smooth as silk and a pleasure to hold. The Honduran mahogany neck is smooth and fast. Gotoh brand planetary tuners with a smooth 4:1 gear ratio make this easy to tune.
The fingerboard is black ebony and the rope inlay surrounds the peghead before it continues down the fingerboard where it crosses and surrounds the koa body. There are no fret markers cluttering up the front of the fretboard but there are position dots on the edge of the fretboard at 5, 7, 10 and 12. The string-thru pin-less bridge is Snakewood with an Elm Burl Veneer. The saddle and nut are bone.
Overall length is approx 26”, weight is about 24 ozs and the instrument comes in a Pohaku hard-shell case. Price is $1600 + tax in California + $40 shipping
