Curly Koa Baritone
Title: "Curly Koa with Deco Accents"
This is a new Baritone size ukulele. It is built out of the finest Grade AAA Hawaiian Koa. It is matched with a Honduran Mahogany neck and a Rosewood fingerboard. It is bound with a simple maple strip which culminates into a mustache on the lower bout. The string thru pinless style bridge is also Maple with an elmwood burl veneer accent.
The Baritone scale length is 19”. The body is ladder braced and the back is well arched on both axis creating a graceful rounded back. The tuning machines are Grover #9's. The finish is a high quality smooth lacquer wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss.
The fretboard is made of Rosewood and terminates at the soundhole with an art deco style empire-key design element which echos the empire deco accent at the top of the peghead. The five fret-markers are horizontal wooden inlays punctured with brass rings and concave black-eyes.
My Baritone design always has a big sound and this one's sound is especially giant.
The instrument is about 30” long and weighs about 29 ozs.
